Can you really write letters to people in prison?

Well, I think the idea is a very decent, if not dangerous, one. But let's remember those people are in there for a reason. I would talk to a priest or minister and see what they say. They do make visits to prisons or would know of clergy members in other areas that do so they'd know what is and isn't allowed as far as letters go. Just remember that small bits of personal information, given over time, can be pieced together and you sure don't want someone showing up on your doorstep years from now when you might have kids or something. By all means, minister to the imprisoned. Just get some sound advice from someone who knows. You sound like a decent person, hon. Make sure you aren't also a victim.
